Denman Horse Trials in NSW is not an event that draws many visitors but those that do hop by sure can jump!
Whilst Charlie Richardson and his off the track thoroughbred Yototsu were doing their dressage test at Denman today, they were joined in the grassy areas by some kangaroos. Being a good Aussie thoroughbred, the six-year-old Yototsu seemed completely unfazed, going on on to complete the test on a fabulous score of 23.4 to lead the Britt Grovenor Photography EvA80 Division C. And it was Britt’s mum who captured the moment!
It was a good day at Denman for the Mallyon Hills Stud, well-known for its sire Wimborne Constable competed at top level by Catie Herbert, with Tara Rogers riding Mallyon Hills Deruet leading the Tozer Air Conditioning & Electrical CCN1* and Sarah Clark riding Mallyon Hills Dennis leading the Anvil Enterprises Australia EvA95-A.
Absolutely nothing separates two of Australia’s best lady riders with Niki Rose riding Vakarra Kanndoo and Emma Bishop riding CP Canterbury going head-to-head in the Anvil Enterprises Australia EvA95-B, both on a score of 27.4 after dressage and Sarah Clark, on another Mallyon Hills horse, this time Mallyon Hills Freda in third on 28.4.
Tomorrow, it will be the turn of Yototsu and all the other horses to jump like kangaroos as they go cross country – check back tomorrow night to see who won what!
