Scotland’s leading rider, Wills and A Class Cooley started the competition in fifth place, were the fastest around Blair’s challenging cross country terrain on Saturday to move into the lead and, despite one rail down on the final soggy showjumping day, they remained on top of the leaderboard with a score of 50 penalties. Emily King on Valmy Biats at Hartpury International Horse Trials 2024
Congratulations to Emily King and Valmy Biats, winners of the 2024 British National Eventing Championship at Hartpury International Horse Trials (7th – 11th August 2024).
Emily and Valmy Biats finished second in the British Open Championship at Hartpury behind Tim Price riding Vitali but, as the top placed British rider, Emily secured the prestigious Championship win.
Musa Hussain riding Emma Henney’s 8-year-old horse Liquid Luck was crowned the CCI2*-L Young Rider Champion at Bishop Burton International Horse Trials in July 2024.
The pair finished on their dressage score of 29.4, after strong jumping performances, including this wonderful cross country round, at their first ever attempt at long-format competition.
