Isabelle Cook on Emerald Katie at Brightling Park Horse Trials 2023
Isabelle Cook, daughter of British team stalwart and multiple medal winner Tina Cook, had another strong year in 2023, culminating in her win of the Edy Goldman Trophy, awarded to the British U21 rider gaining the most points throughout the year.
Riding the 11-year-old mare Mexican Law, Isabelle finished fifth individually as well as taking team silver at the FEI Junior European Eventing Championships in Montelibretti but this is not the only string to her bow, with a team of talented horses coming up through the grades.
One of these, the nine-year-old Emerald Katie enjoyed a successful year, starting the season at BE100 level, including this win at Brightling Park in July, and had her first few starts at CCI2* by the end of year. Ones to watch in 2024!

Eight years after his CCI5* debut, 18-year-old Virgil won the Adelaide Equestrian Festival CCI5* by 9.5 points to become the oldest five-star winner of the last 16 seasons. Anna Price on Keep Happy at Bishop Burton International Horse Trials 2023
18-year-old Anna Price achieved a rare double Championship in July 2023, taking the CCI-S2* British National Championships at both Junior (riding Keep Happy) and Young Rider (riding Blakeney Surprise) level at Bishop Burton International.
Anna and Keep Happy went on finish in fourth place of the Junior Championship at the 2023 FEI Eventing European Championships for Young Riders and Juniors in September, also earning them the Hubert Allfrey Trophy, presented to the highest placed British rider in the Junior European Championship at the end of season British Awards lunch in November.
